Just wanted to share the centerpieces I made for the Reno-Tahoe NACE chapter meeting at D’Andrea last month. Rustic wooden boxes full of flowers, fruit and vegetables representing the bounty of Tuscany (or Napa for that matter)! I loved how they paired with the Burnt Orange Ribbon Taffeta linen by Creative Coverings! The tulips and ranunculus and artichokes brought a touch of spring. Sydney and Johnny’s wedding last fall was so fun to be a part of. They have a great chemistry and warmth and it was a joy to see them together. They were on a budget so we kept the decor to a minimum but utilizing the season’s colors and textures from foliage and the rustic accents of birch, fall leaves, moss, wood, stones and pinecones to create the centerpieces allowed us to save the use of flowers for the bouquets and special accents. The ceremony was at St. Rose of Lima in Reno, NV and the reception at The Fish Hatchery at Galena Creek Park was intimate and casual. I love the touch of the tree saplings they gave as favors, tagged with a quote by John Muir. Here are a few photos of the decor from the wedding, courtesy of my husband Jeff Isaacson. He got some great shots of these two, although some of my favorites don’t include the flowers so I am not using them here. Check out his website at www.jeffisaacsonphotography.com
I think teamwork is important when it comes to pulling off and event and I appreciate working with professionals who do a consistently excellent job to make an event work. That is why I love Peter at Mountain Magic Catering. He and his crew are efficient at creating artistic, fresh and delicious food…in not always ideal conditons. We has become an expert at working in a make-shift kitchen at sites such as The Gatekeeper’s Museum in Tahoe City, to put the final elegant touches on the appetizers before they are passed by their professional staff. His use of organic, seasonal, local ingredients, their flexibility in working with various budgets and their natural Tahoe decor for their displays make them a favorite vendor of Sierra Floral Designs.
Here is a little info about their business…

I love the simple rustic organic elements in this wedding using green, creams and browns…the kiwi vine in her bouquet was a perfect touch!
Here is a simple modern organic wedding at The Chateau in Tahoe…a smaller budget but using elegant vases, interesting accents and a pop of color adds a nice effect to this wedding. I love the kale in her bouquet!

Here a some photos from a wedding we did recently at Edgewood..thanks to Jeff Isaacson Photography for taking the photos for me!
The centerpieces were a version of the cluster arrangments that I do alot, in white and silver with natural accents.
The bouquet was the complimentary toss bouquet I placed on their cake table.
The branch arrangement on the table with the photo was the wish tree we made for their guests to write a wish to the Bride and Groom and hang on the branches.
I will admit I was totally against the idea of disposable plastic floral containers however I have changed my mind. Check out this elegant spring centerpiece in blue, green and cream that I did for a corporate dinner at Squaw…in a silver high luster plastic container. Not too shabby!
Thanks to Jeff Isaacson Photography for the last minute photos!
